Windows FAQs
1. What is a replacement window?
A replacement window is a window that is custom measured and manufactured to fit an existing opening. It is custom-fit and designed to fit perfectly and can be normally installed without removing or disturbing the interior and exterior stops/trim work around the window.
2. What are various replacement window options and made of and what is the best choice for my home?
Basically there are three types of materials used for replacement windows: Aluminum, Wood, and Vinyl.Aluminum windows, with their easily scratched painted surfaces, conduct both heat and cold, so they're very poor insulators. Wood windows require constant painting, caulking and can absorb moisture and are very often hard to open and close. And, because they are wood, over time they often rot. However, with replacement windows from The Home Remodeler's Group® , because they are constructed of the highest quality vinyl, they never need painting, will not fade, and since the vinyl color is through the material, they don’t show scratches.Because of this easy maintenance, vinyl replacement windows are quickly becoming the most popular choice for both new home construction and replacement applications. 12. Aren't all window warranties practically the same?
No not at all. There are as many warranties as there are window manufacturers. Some brand name factory warranties cover just the sash and frame.
