"About a year ago you offered to me and my family excellent advice and first-ate proposals on the improvements to our lake cottage. Many times I had wanted to thank you again for all you did during and after your visit, and I had promised to follow up with you as we made plans to move ahead.
Because, as we had discussed, the cottage has needed quite a bit of work in a number of areas, we hired an architect to get an overview of all that needs to be done. The architect, who works for the firm headed by the recent president of the lake community club, has been enthusiastic in his proposals both to restore the cottage that my grandfather built and to improve it. His proposals take account of the foundation, new waterline, winterizing, windows, kitchen, bathroom, and septic system. Unfortunately, the report has taken a few months longer than we anticipated, and we still plan to distribute it to family members so we can include their ideas in the final specifications that the contractors will use. I have been learning how complicated all this planning is, for even the new roofing depends on whether the septic engineer determines that the gutters should be removed; and before completing the roofing, the decision has to be made whether to put the insulation on under shingles to keep the rafters as a rustic feature.
The architect has recommended some local contractors his firm has worked with on foundations and water supply, but as the priorities are set, I haven't forgotten Home Remodelers, and if your company can be a part of the work according to your proposals, I will definitely let you know. Please allow me to state again how much I value the expertise and integrity of you and Home Remodelers.
Since our meeting I have continued to listen to your Saturday afternoon radio program, and I have mentioned it to many people. As ever, I wish you the best."
Sincerely, Donald W. White
